David Chifunyise Biography
David Chifunyise is a Zimbabwean musician, software developer, and entrepreneur recognized as one of the pioneers of the Urban Grooves music genre.
Background
Born into a family involved in the arts, Chifunyise is the son of Stephen Chifunyise, a former permanent secretary in the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture, and the late Tisa Chifunyise, an arts practitioner. He has two siblings, Chipo and Martha.
He completed his secondary education at Vainona High School and later graduated from the University of Zimbabwe. Additionally, he obtained a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineering qualification through Deloitte and Touche Training.
Music Career
Chifunyise began recording music during his high school years at Vainona. He gained national prominence after featuring on the compilation album "The Future", produced by Delani Makhalima under Shamiso Entertainment. His contribution to the project, the song "Tauya Naye" featuring Sniper Storm, became a chart-topping single on Power FM. The accompanying music video received regular broadcast on Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) TV and Channel O.
Following the success of the single, he released his debut album, Tauya Naye, which included other notable tracks such as "Sarudzai" and "Maheu". During this era, Chifunyise also composed the theme song for the popular Zimbabwean television soap opera, Studio 263.
After taking a hiatus from the music industry to focus on his corporate career, Chifunyise returned in 2011 with the release of the album Art.

Business Career
Outside of the entertainment industry, Chifunyise transitioned into the technology sector. He is the Chief Executive Officer of CyberCard, a technology firm specializing in e-commerce software development, website development, video conferencing applications, and socio-economic networking software.
Personal Life
Chifunyise is married to Rumbidzai Chifunyise, and the couple has three children.
