Early Life and Background
Tarisai Cleopatra Chikocho, known professionally as Madam Boss, was born on April 16, 1985, in Harare, Zimbabwe. She grew up in Madziva village, a rural area in Zimbabwe. Before her rise to fame, she worked as a maid, a background that would later inspire her popular comedy skits.
She is married to Ngonidzaishe Munetsiwa, who also helps write some of her social media scripts. The couple has been together since 2011.
Career
Music
Madam Boss began her career in the gospel music industry. She released an album titled "Sunungura", which marked the start of her public career. However, it was not music that brought her widespread attention.
Comedy and Social Media
She gained popularity by creating comedy skits, often acting as a maid in humorous situations. These skits were shared on Facebook and other social platforms. Her unique style and relatable content quickly gained a large following, and she became the first Zimbabwean comedian to reach 1 million followers on Facebook.
Acting
Madam Boss later expanded into acting. In 2021, she was cast in a Nollywood series called "The Offspring". She also got a role in SABC 1’s South African drama series "Ubettina Wethu". That same year, it was announced that she would appear in a Netflix-produced South African film titled "The Bad Bishop".
In May 2022, filming began for a biographical movie titled "Becoming Madam Boss", based on her life story.
