Pokello was born in Gwanda, Matabeleland South, to Retired Colonel George Nare and Bessy Muzvidzwa. She was raised in Harare and is of Sotho descent from the Babirwa Clan in the lineage of Sikora Morole. Her stepfather is former Zimbabwean cabinet minister Ignatius Chombo.
She completed her primary education at Alexandra Park Primary School in Harare before attending Kyle College in Masvingo. Pokello pursued higher education at Monash University in South Africa, graduating with a degree in Business Management and Media. During her university tenure, she served on the 10-member Student Representative Council (SRC) as the campus's first female social coordinator.

In 2013, Pokello was selected to represent Zimbabwe on Big Brother Africa: The Chase (Season 8). She spent 56 days in the house before her eviction in July 2013, having survived four eviction nominations during her stay.
