Munyeza was born in Mazowe, Zimbabwe, as the eldest of six children. He spent his early years in Inyanga with his grandmother and later moved to Harare in 1978. He attended Tamunesa Primary School, Mhizha Primary School, St. John's High School, and Prince Edward School. During his schooling, he served as head boy and Junior Mayor of Harare.
He pursued higher education in accounting and marketing, obtaining a Bachelor of Accounting Science from the University of South Africa and a Diploma in Applied Accountancy from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Zimbabwe. He also earned an IMM Diploma in Marketing and a Diploma in Hotel Management Strategy from Cornell University. In 2010, Solusi University awarded him an honorary Doctorate in Business Administration and Development.
Munyeza began his career at Ernst & Young as a trainee accountant before moving into advertising with CM & A Advertising. He later joined Cresta Hospitality Zimbabwe as Group Commercial Director. In 2002, he led a consortium that acquired a stake in Zimbabwe Sun Limited, later rebranded as African Sun Limited, where he served as Chief Executive Officer. Under his leadership, the company expanded into South Africa, Botswana, Mozambique, Ghana, and Nigeria. He stepped down from African Sun in 2015.
Beyond hospitality, Munyeza has investments in telecommunications, renewable energy, and franchising, including brands like Mugg & Bean, Ocean Basket, and News Cafe.
Munyeza served as the senior pastor at Faith Ministries Church in Harare from 2006 to 2017. He was involved in youth mentorship and community development programs. In 2021, he resigned from his pastoral role following a personal controversy.
He is married to Wilma Munyeza, and they have a daughter named Nomsa.
