Background

Kriste Mambo High School is a Catholic girls' secondary school in Manicaland Province, Zimbabwe. It was founded on January 21, 1964, by the Dutch Sisters of Charity. The school is located close to Rusape, along the Rusape-Nyanga Road.

Founding and Administration

The land for the school was donated by Miss May Bloomfield, a local who converted to Catholicism. After the war, the Carmelite Fathers began managing the school, working together with the school’s principal. The administration also includes a School Development Committee and a School Advisory Board. Fr. Alexio Makakowe currently serves as the Carmelite manager.

Location and Campus

The school is situated at P Bag 8095, Rusape, roughly 44.5 kilometers from the town center. The campus offers boarding and day schooling. Facilities include classrooms, science laboratories, a library, and sports fields.

Academics

Kriste Mambo High School provides education under both ZIMSEC and Cambridge systems. Subjects include sciences, commercial, arts, and practical courses. The school gained A-Level status in 2000. It has consistently reported high pass rates, including a 100% A-Level pass rate in 2024.
