Background

Regina Mundi High School is located in Gweru, Midlands Province, Zimbabwe. The school was established in 1960 by the Dominican Sisters under the Catholic Diocese of Gweru. The name "Regina Mundi" means "Queen of the World" in Latin. The school was founded after the land was donated by Mr. Val Oates and Mrs. May Cumming Oates to Bishop Alois Haene in 1955. Initially, it shared premises with another school before moving to its current location in January 1960.

The current headmistress is Eveline Maphosa. Previous leadership included Sr. Jangara, who contributed to the school's infrastructure development. The staff consists of qualified teachers and support personnel who work together to provide education and care for the students.
