St. Albert’s High School is a coeducational Roman Catholic mission secondary school located in the Mashonaland Central province of Zimbabwe. The school offers both day and boarding facilities to students.
Established in the 1970s by the Jesuit Society of the Roman Catholic Church, St. Albert’s High School has a historical significance. In July 1973, during the Rhodesian Bush War, the school was attacked by Zimbabwe African National Liberation Army (ZANLA) cadres, who captured 292 pupils and staff and force-marched them towards Mozambique. The majority were later released, with only eight still in captivity when the march was intercepted by Rhodesian forces.
The school follows the Zimbabwe Schools Examination Council (ZIMSEC) curriculum, offering subjects in languages, sciences, humanities, commercial studies, practical subjects, and arts. Students sit for Ordinary Level (O-Level) and Advanced Level (A-Level) examinations.
St. Albert’s High School provides various facilities to support academic and extracurricular activities. These include classrooms, science laboratories, a library, and sporting facilities. Boarding facilities are available for students from distant areas.
