Background

Zimbabwe Republic Police High School (ZRP High School) is a private boarding school located in Harare, Zimbabwe. It was established in 2001 and officially opened in 2003. The school was founded by the Zimbabwe Republic Police to provide education primarily for the children of police officers. It is situated in the Hatcliffe area of Harare, near Borrowdale Road.

Academic Structure

The school offers education at both Ordinary Level (O Level) and Advanced Level (A Level). At O Level, students can select from ten subjects, while at A Level, the school provides Arts, Commercial, and Science streams. Language instruction includes English and French, with plans to introduce Chinese classes.

Student Body and Admission

ZRP High School enrolls approximately 700 students. Admission is mainly reserved for children of police officers, although a limited number of non-police students are accepted. Entry into A Level requires strong academic performance, typically a minimum of five A grades at O Level. Form 1 admissions are conducted through the Ministry of Education’s EMAP system based on Grade 7 results.

Academic Performance

The school has maintained high academic standards, with pass rates exceeding 90% in recent years. For example, in 2024, the O Level pass rate was 96.8%, and the A Level pass rate was 94.6%. These results place the school among the top-performing institutions in Zimbabwe.

Meals are provided, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a regulated tuck shop for snacks. The school also operates agricultural projects such as vegetable gardens and poultry farming to support food supply and practical learning.

Fees and Uniform

The school charges different fees for police and non-police students. In 2025, fees for police students ranged from $1,197 to $1,223, while non-police students paid between $1,507 and $1,533. The school’s uniform colors are gold and blue.
